DeFuniak Springs, FL (October 26, 2015) – Walton County citizens and property owners will see several enhancements when conducting online business with the Tax Collector’s Office. The implementation of a new software system, TaxSys®, at the end of September allowed for enhancements to simplify online payments and property tax searches as well as make these features more mobile-friendly.
“Our team is excited for our customers to experience these new features,” said Rhonda Skipper, Tax Collector. “Customers who have tried to look up property tax accounts or renew their vehicle registration online or via mobile devices will recognize significant improvements.”
Walton is the 21st Florida County Tax Collector’s Office to convert to TaxSys®, Grant Street Group’s state-of-the-art, web-based tax collection and billing system. The conversion to TaxSys was completed in just 7 months, beginning in February 2015 and concluding on September 28, 2015. This included the transition to RenewExpress, which allows citizens to renew their vehicle and vessel registrations online with ease.
“The addition of the Walton County Tax Collector’s office is an important milestone for Grant Street Group. We commend Ms. Skipper and her staff for their efforts during the conversion process. This is a highly tuned and laser focused organization constantly striving to make improvements to serve their citizens,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Chief Business Development Officer.
As a result of the software conversion, tax payers enrolled in the electronic tax billing program were sent an email notification advising them of the need to re-enroll in the electronic billing program. Individuals who have not re-enrolled to receive their tax bill electronically will receive a paper tax bill. Tax notices will be mailed on November 1. Tax payers can enroll in the electronic bill program at any time throughout the year.
The 2015 taxes are available online. Property owners can avoid lines by paying property taxes online at waltontaxcollector.com.
