Disabled Parking Permits

A Florida Parking Permit is issued to any individual who is certified as legally blind or has disabilities that limit the ability to walk. The placard must hang on the rear view mirror when a vehicle is parked in a space designated for disabled persons. This permit is transferable to any vehicle transporting the disabled person.

Four-year permit – the form HSMV 83039

No more than two permits are issued. (Note: With form HSMV 83007a Florida resident may obtain a Wheelchair Plate.)

Temporary permit – "Issued for up to six months from the date of issuance, and may be extended as needed with a new certification." Form HSMV 83039
must be signed by both applicant and physician/physician's assistant or other qualified authorities operating under the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs. The cost is $15.00, regardless of how many days the permit is issued. The tax colector is not authorized to waive this fee. Persons who have been issued Temporary Parking Permits are not eligible to receive an additional placard.
